Santorini

Day 9

Today was just as relaxing. We ate breakfast then went to the red beach. It was a total bust. There was a rocky hike to get down to the beach that didn't have a place to buy water or a restroom. Oh well, we went back to the bus station and missed the bus by exactly a minute. So we waited for an hour for the next bus. Then we went to the black beach again. It was much harder to tan when it was so hot. At least i didn't burn :) We ate pork at a place by the beach before tanning. We didn't stay at the beach for as long because it was so blessed hot. Well, we went back to the hotel, showered, and ate a picnic dinner. I'm pretty sure we are done for the day, but if we happen to do anything more today, I shall add it to today's blog. Lots of love to all :)

Santorini

day 8

Breakfast was amazing, as it is in all of Greece. We headed off to the black sand beach early. I actually tanned. Well, as tan as someone as white as i can get. But hey, it's a start. Yay! We stayed at the beach for a long time before heading back to the hotel to shower. After we freshened up, we went to Argo for a lovely dinner. We picked up dessert to eat at the hotel. Then . . . wait for it. . . SLEEP! Thank goodness. Who knew tanning could be so exhausting?

Santorini

Day 7

We woke up at 5:30 to eat and get ready to leave at 6am. It took us 15 minutes and a frightening taxi ride to get to the port. We boarded the HUGE boat and I fell asleep. I explored the boat then read a novella before we arrived in Santorini. Santorini is beautiful. We took a van up the narrow mountain roads to our hotel. We went to Oia for sunset pictures and a feta cheese/olive/tomato/fruit drink/nut picnic. Delicious. Oh, Oia is the place with the famous blue chapel :) I love this island.

Athens

day 6

Slept in today. We finally caught up on sleep! Yay! Today was a free day, so we went to the temple of Olympian Zeus first. I built a replica of it in 6th grade, and let me say I more than did it justice :) haha. We stumbled on a street for shopping by mistake. Then we found the laundromat. After dropping off our clothes, we went to Hadrian's library then to the agora. The agora was amazing because you could walk where Greeks walked. No ropes or boundaries! iT WAS FANTASTIC. Next up was shopping. I bought things for friends and teachers. We ate dinner at iGusti again. This was my favorite day by far. I love Greece!

Athens

Day 5

Breakfast was quite nice. We were picked up from our hotel at 8am. We boarded a tour bus and stopped at Olympic stadium before going to the Acropolis. The parthenon was breathtaking. There are loads of stray dogs everywhere in Athens. After the acropolis we went to the new museum. Not quite as amazing, but it was a nice museum. There were guards everywhere. We ate lunch then went on our way to temple of Poseidon. The temple was beautiful and there I discovered the most amazing drink invented. It is called a Freddocino. It is love. MMM. When we got to the hotel, we realized how hungry we were and headed to a delicious restaurant called iGusti. Great day.
